Plank Smoked Brie CheesePlank Smoked Brie Cheese

This is a simple Plank Smoked Brie Cheese that is just jam packed with flavor. Pun intended! Every time we have made it our crash test dummies have fussed over it, and it is so simple to make. Once, after a long day, we just had this for dinner with a well chilled Chablis.

We used a Maple smoking plank and soaked it in water for a few hours. Top the cheese with your favorite fruit preserves… or not, it’s good without them, too. Then, put the cheese on it. Then, set it the grill at low heat until it melts. The maple smoke flavors the cheese. Serve on your choice of crackers and you’re good to go. This would be a fun desert for the kids to do on the grill, with your supervision of course.

Cooking Directions: Plank Smoked Brie Cheese

We used one of our Wood Pellet Grill/Smokers. But this is so easy; you are not cooking it but just melting the cheese. So you can do this on any grill. Place the cheese round on the soaked plank, onto the grill at medium heat until the cheese is melted a little and warmed threw.

Normally I break a recipe down so you use can easily use any type of grill. But, this one is so easy I don’t think I need to do any more than to give you the idea.

About Our Recipes

We do our recipes on our patio where we have a lineup of grills, including Louisiana, Memphis, Royall, Traeger pellet grills, Char Griller side box smoker, Saber, Charmglow, Char-Broil, The Big Easy, Lodge Sportsman’s, Brinkman and Weber. I call it our “Wall of Grill”. Our grilling styles are healthy and low fat and will fit pelletheads, gas, natural wood and even charcoal purists. Almost any of our recipes can be done on any kind of good BBQ.

The important thing to keep in mind is TIME & TEMPERATURE. You can even do some of them in the oven or crock pot, but, then you lose all the flavors you get from cooking outdoors. But sometimes it does rain.

Remember that a recipe is simply an outline; it is not written in stone. Don’t be afraid to make changes to suit your taste.

Take it and run with it….

Live your Passion,
Ken & Patti
