Alabama White BBQ Sauce, We love all the flavors of southern BBQ and Alabama White BBQ Sauce is one of my favorites. Almost everyone has their own family recipe for this all purpose sauce. This one was my mother’s, a mayonnaise-based sauce, on the tangy side with a kiss of horseradish, and mustard. It’s a delicious, easy and beautiful sauce to have in your kitchen that works well to baste chicken, pork chops or ribs on the grill. And it makes a great dipping sauce and can be served either hot or cold. Patti loves to use it as a tasty sandwich sauce instead of plain mayonnaise.

Patti and I have set one night a week just for us. It’s our date night. We usually put something special on one of our Grills or Smokers, but sometimes we cook inside. We always eat outside on our patio where it is very comfortable with a rainforest theme.  Wood Pellet Patio Heater, little lights, candles, lanterns, and surround sound. We enjoy a little wine, or strawberry margaritas using frozen strawberries for ice, good food, music and sometimes a dance or two…

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients: Alabama White BBQ Sauce

  • 1 ½  cups mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 2 TBSP. prepared horseradish
  • 2 TBSP. minced garlic
  • 2 TBSP. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 TBSP. fresh tarragon leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 TBSP. Creole mustard
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. coarse ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt, to taste
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Our Ingredients

Directions: Alabama White BBQ Sauce

Whisk together all ingredients except the water until blended. Add the water a little at a time until you get the consistency you like. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. You can store it in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

About Our Recipes

We do our recipes on our patio where we have a lineup of grills, including Monument, Green Mountain, Uuni Wood Fired Pizza Oven, Sawtooth, Louisiana, Royall, Memphis, Traeger pellet grills, Char Griller side box smoker, Saber, Charmglow, Char-Broil, The Big Easy, Lodge Sportsman’s, Brinkman and Weber. I call it our “Wall of Grill”. Our grilling styles are healthy and low fat and will fit pelletheads, gas, natural wood and even charcoal purists. Almost any of our recipes can be done on any kind of good BBQ.

The important thing to keep in mind is TIME & TEMPERATURE. You can do our recipes on any grill, even some of them in the oven or crock pot, but, then you lose all the flavors you get from cooking outdoors. But sometimes it does rain.

Remember that a recipe is simply an outline; it is not written in stone. Don’t be afraid to make changes to suit your taste. Take it and run with it….

    Do you serve it cold or heat it up ?

      I have always served it cold.

      It is mayo based, but you may be able to heat it a bit…
      But not to much or it will break down…
